Mariage
Leon, Seppe Baeyens
An exercise in connection that lets everyone join in, celebrating, moving and creating
Mariage uses dance and new traditions to celebrate togetherness in a unique way. Through a series of open workshops in the public space, people can engage in dance, music and scenography. Guided by volunteers and artists from Leon, the participants create a universal and symbolic wedding feast together. Everyone can pitch in, by helping to work out the choreography and set the scene, or by making their own costumes.
Mariage invites everyone, from the cast to casual passers-by, to take part in their own way. The joint celebration blurs the line between the performers and the audience, creating a collective experience that is accessible to all.
From a street parade to a costume party and a shared meal, Mariage is an exercise in connection, creating space for unexpected and spontaneous encounters. Always organic and authentic.
