When Kanal opens in 2026, the people of Brussels will get a chance to discover a major exhibition about MOVEMENT, exchange and migration. Les Habitant.es des images want to offer an exclusive preview of the show by opening a mirror exhibition in the neighbourhoods around the museum. Ten works from the future exhibition will be put on display in the streets of Molenbeek. What happens to the political and economic charge of an artwork when it crosses over into the daily lives of residents? And what MOVEMENT does a major cultural project inspire when it takes root in one of the poorest neighbourhoods of Brussels ?

This proposal is the first phase of a project that will continue in 2026. At the invitation of Kanal, Les Habitant.es des images want to explore these questions further, together with local residents and museum staff.
